Understanding Sales Commissions in Queensland.

You may not know it but commission rates on residential home sales in Queensland was deregulated in 2014. Prior to that, the state set a maximum commission rate of 5% on the first $18,000 paid for a property and then 2.5 % for the balance.

These days, commissions in Queensland are totally unregulated and this could mean your commissions could amount to tens of thousands of dollars.

Imagine spending $33,000 on commission for an agent to sell a $1,000,000 house on 3.3% commission. I could think of better things for you to spend that extra $22,000 on.

In Queensland commissions can be as low as 1% or as high as 4.5% plus GST.

I believe most agents are aiming for around 3.3% given my professional experience. 

I am a true Low Commission Agent and the only time my commission varies is for sales of $800,000 or LESS as those normally have a rate of 1.5% plus GST this is still well below the standard commission rates of most agents.
